80 and Sunny…

As we stood at the little church on the hill, the sky was the brigthest, deepest blue I had ever seen. The day was perfect, just as it should be. Today we said goodbye to a wonderful lady. Mary Harrer was a mom, grandma, and great grandma who blessed us with her presence for 90 years.

I was lucky to know “Grandma” for the past 10 years since meeting Bridget. Not having grandparents still with us, grandma quickly filled that void. I’m thrilled Bridget and I were able to give her her first great grandchild in Owen, which was quickly followed by several more from the rest of her family.

A simple, strong, proud lady, we could all learn something from her. Slow down, enjoy the little things in life, and be thankful for your family.

Grandma, today you were surrounded by all those who loved you so much. We will miss you a bunch, but as we say goodbye, we know there are others finally getting to greet you on the other side. God bless you Grandma.
